"ANDREW HARLEY SPEAKER--ONE DESPICABLE HUMAN BEING"

We now know the name of the TB carrier who possibly exposed a number of people to his extreme form of tuberculosis.
His name is Andrew Harley Speaker, a thirty-one year old lawyer from Atlanta, Georgia. According to CBS and the Associated Press, Speaker "has a rare and dangerous form of tuberculosis that has proved resistant to drugs." Speaker is being held under federal quarantine at the National Jewish Medical and Research Center in Denver, Colorado. He arrived at this facility on Thursday. The NJMRC specializes in respiratory disorders.
Doctors say they plan to treat Speaker with what amounts to a "drug cocktail." He will receive two antibiotics, one orally, and the other intravenous. Doctors say this man who is the first tuberculosis patient to be quarantined since 1963, will also receive a complete physical, along with a test which is designed to tell medical officials just how infectious he is. Speaker is also scheduled to undergo a CT scan and a lung X-ray.
Speaker is being housed in a special unit in Denver. He has access to two rooms, and a ventilation system. Hospital spokesman, William Allsetter stated emphatically that Speaker, "May Not Leave That Room Much for Several Weeks."
It is ironic that Andrew Harley Speaker's father-in-law is employed as a microbiologist at a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention laboratory that investigates tuberculosis and other baterial infections. Bob Cooksey said he gave his son-in-law "fatherly advice" when he got the news that Speaker had contracted TB.
Speaker did an interview with the Atlanta Constitution-Journal while hospitalized in Atlanta earlier in the wek. Amazingly, he told the paper that he knew he had TB when he boarded a flight leaving Atlanta for Europe in mid-May. Speaker apparently got married in Europe and also honeymooned in a European country. He said that he didn't know the severity of his tuberculosis until he arrived in Europe!
Speaker was asked by federal health officials not to fly back to the U.S. However, he blew the officials off and came back home just the same!
In the meantime, health officials are trying to contact the passengers who had the misfortune of flying with this heartless man. I call Andrew Harley Speaker heartless because what decent person would do such a dastardly thing?
Apparently, this man only cares about himself ! He obviously doesn't care about his "New Wife." He subjected her to his communicable disease. But, Andrew Harley Speaker "Had To Get Married."
It is sad to say, but this man mirrors a number of people in our society today. And that is, "To Hell With You, I'm Going To Satisfy My Carnality."
This man's entire existence is fraught with hedonism and existentialism. How else would you explain his selfish act? Three things to remember, (1) He knew that he has tuberculosis, (2) He subjected a number of people to his disease, and (3) He has no respect for authority.
What is the difference between me pulling out a gun and shooting someone, and what this wreckless person has done? Absolutely nothing. I would be arrested if I shot a group of innocent people. And rightly so, I might add.
As soon as he is fit to leave the hospital, the police should be there to escort "Mr. Speaker, To The Big House"!
